My name is Nichole. Among my many roles, I am a wife and mother. I love my husband and my son more than anything. By day I am a full time Spanish teacher which helps fulfill my passion for helping others and of course the Spanish language and culture. I also fill my time by being a Beachbody coach. All this means is that I get to encourage and motivate people to reach their health/ fitness goals by having my own fitness business. It is so exciting to see people lose the weight they want and finally feel GOOD again! I even get to help other people get involved with this amazing opportunity! Here I am with one of my rock star coaches Tamara! I'll talk more coaching in a minute. After the birth of my son in April of 2009 I found myself overweight and unhappy with myself. All the ladies out there can probably relate. I felt unattractive and really just out of shape. So I decided to do something about it. Throughout my life I have been pretty active participating in sports, running and other activities like that, but after little man I felt like I had never worked out a day in my life. I participated in a 10 week "extreme body shaping" class to jump start my fitness. I'm not going to lie. It was TOUGH. On the first day of class we did "fitness testing" and had to "run" a mile. I was so mad at myself because I couldn't even make it the entire mile. Seriously, that was a real low for me. I was 30 pounds over weight (actually more like 40 since I was 10 pounds overweight before I got preggo) and couldn't run a distance I ran ALL the time as a cross country runner in HS. It was during those 10 weeks I had my wake up call. Not only did I finally have the DESIRE and the PASSION to feel good again, but my mom had a sudden heart attack. Talk about your wake up call! Her heart attack changed my entire perspective on life. Let the ones you love know how much you care EVERY DAY! You don’t know when it could be someone’s last. Luckily, I still have my momma (aka my miracle) today , but I wasn't so sure she'd make it. I also realized that if she'd had a heart attack I HAD to take care of myself so I don't experience one later in life too! After my fitness class ended I KNEW I had to keep going for SO many reasons, but I needed something I could do at home. I didn't like being away from my family so much and let's face it, it was expensive. So, I started working out at home with programs like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, No More Trouble Zones, Turbo Jam and Chalean Extreme. Since then I am proud to say I have lost 32 pounds and 4 sizes! I am SO close to goal weight, but to be honest I am happy and comfortable in my skin again and that is what really matters. Through all of this I realized I wanted to pay forward all that I had learned and would love to help others lose weight too! In order to reach my goals I had to have support and not everyone has that. So, that's where the coaching came in to play! Since I started coaching I have met incredible people and heard amazing stories. It is truly changing me as a person and I couldn't be more thankful I took advantage of the opportunity! To be honest becoming a coach is what pushed me to register for my first half marathon on Sept. 11, 2010 and complete it in my goal time of under 2:30! The funny part was the marathon was exactly one year to the day from when I started working out again. I was 32 pounds lighter and could CRUSH 13.1 miles when I couldn't even run a mile to begin with! It really was one of my proudest moments and biggest accomplishments. What else do you need to know about me? I like to think I help bring out the best in others, I am loving, supporting and truly there for others. I also love to travel, speak other languages, play with my two yorkie pups (who aren't really pups anymore) spend time with my family (brothers, sisters etc. included) and really just continue to push myself to become a better person. I love making new friends so I hope I can count you as a friend too! .
