My favorite at home workouts
For any of you who know me it is no surprise that I am very busy. To be honest it would be super easy to never do a workout because there are always papers to be graded, laundry to be put away (sorry honey), business to attend to or just find a moment to breathe. However, as Chalene Johnson puts it saying you don’t have time is just an excuse. So, for those in the crowd who are making excuses here are some recommendations for you to STOP making excuses and START making a change! The New Year will be here soon. 2011 could be a big year for you. Maybe you want to get back in to those skinny jeans or like me want to see that wedding weight back on the scale. Whatever the case may be here are some of my favorite at home workouts. No lie, these videos have my heart going faster than a lot of workouts I’ve done at a gym.
Workout 1: Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred
No lie, this video kicked my butt! I started with this video after having gone through a very intense body shaping class and I felt like I was more out of shape then ever. Jillian knows how to make you move and break a sweat. You can find this video at Wal-mart or Target for a very cheap price. Worth it for sure. I have to worn you this video may cause soreness and cause weight loss! Are you ready for that?

Workout 2 & 3: Jillian Michael’s Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones
After doing the 30 Day Shred I added these two videos to my collection and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. There was not a night that I walked away from these workouts without being drenched in sweat and feeling like I had really accomplished something. These videos are short, but pack a punch. All you need are a few hand weights and you are good to go. I also loved how Jillian knew just what to say and when during those videos. It is hard to stop when she makes a valid point about how you want to look in your jeans!
Now, I realize this post looks as if I am all Jillian or bust. Yes, I do like the Jillian videos, but there are others on my list of “must have” home workout programs. If you enjoy kick boxing, great music and even a little bit of dancing then my next suggestion is for you.
Workout 4: Turbo Jam
I know what you are thinking right now, SUCKER. You probably think I was up late one night watching an infomercial and couldn’t refuse the incredible offer they had for me. Well, I guess you are probably right. I totally fell in love with this workout program the first time I saw it and had to have it. The thing is I REALLY DO love the workout AND it comes with nutrition tips too! It is great for any level whether it be beginner or more advanced. I also love the music and the variety! This comes with several workouts for a very low cost so I don’t get bored.
Think you are ready for something a bit more advanced? Then get ready to really get EXTREME! As in CHALENE EXTREME my workout 5! This program pushed me to lift weights I never thought I could in a short period of time. If you are looking for a program to help you lose those pesky pounds and help you feel stronger then ever this is the program for you, 90 days can transform your body!
Last, but not least, here is workout 6: Turbo Fire
If you are ready to really feel the heat and HIIT it (high intensity interval training) this is the workout for you! I LOVE this workout and think you will too. It is faster, more intense and packed with awesome music. What more could you ask for. You’ll need your towel and water bottle handy for this one! Good thing you’ll be doing it at home because you’ll need to hit the showers afterwards for sure!
