Food for thought Friday: Selling Yourself Short

I saw this quote last night as I was looking online and was struck by how true this is.  So often in life we "settle" and just get comfortable with our lives.  When we were young we had SO many dreams and knew we could do anything we wanted to.  I'm not sure when exactly that changes.  When is it that we go from thinking "I can do it" to "I'll be happy just to do this"?  How are you selling yourself short in your life?  Have you thought to yourself I'd like to run a marathon, change jobs, go on a trip to Europe and instead settled for a run around the block, the same old job and only a small vacation instead of the trip of your dreams?  WHY?  What is stopping you?  I read another quote recently that said "shoot for the moon and even if you miss you'll land among the stars."  That's how I'm going to live my life.  Will I reach every big goal I put out there for myself even though I intend to?  I'm not sure.  What I do know is that I'd rather have tried and missed then to have never tried at all.  What about you?  I'd love to hear your thoughts below.  Why do you think SO many people sell themselves short?  What have you been holding back on?  Are you ready to put yourself out there?  Hold yourself accountable by leaving a comment below!
