A Letter to Me: Get off Your Butt and Get Moving
I was on Pinterest (my new obsession) the other day and came across this awesome post:
A Letter to Me
Honestly, I was a bit inspired by this and decided to write a letter to myself. So, stick with me as I bear my soul and click like or comment below if you see a bit of yourself in this.
Today is a lot like every day. You are busy. You work full time. You are a wife. You are a mom. You have so many "reasons" to make excuses for why it is hard to fit in your workouts or eat right. It is so easy to let those "excuses" win and get you down yet again. Why do you let yourself feel like because you didn't get up early to do your workout it is ok to just wait for tomorrow ? Better yet, why do you let the fact your clothes aren't fitting the way you like ruin your day rather than give you the motivation to MAKE A CHANGE? Why are you so focused on helping everyone else that you sometimes ignore yourself? Let's be real here, your changes don't have to be big. You realize that right? All you have to be is consistent. Tackle one thing at a time. Don't try and change all of your "bad" habits all at once. That will just cause you to get overwhelmed and start your vicious "I can start fresh tomorrow" cycle over again. Why do you always let yourself think about tomorrow? Why not get your butt going TODAY even if you made some not so good choices? There are a few hours left until midnight, make a few better ones! You've watched so many other people reach their goals while you are sitting here still on the journey. Yes, it is a process and takes time, but you have to quit making excuses and get to making REAL changes. You have the accountability and support, so take advantage of it! You have the BEST tools available in your workout so do it EVERY DAY! BELIEVE in yourself. KNOW ANYTHING IS POSSILBE! Don't look at the number on the scale. Throw the damn scale away. Look at how you FEEL! Focus on the positive. Don't think about how far you have to go, but rather concentrate on how far you've come! Girl, you've come a LONG way! Yes, you may have let a few pounds sneak back on, but you ARE in a different place this time and don't have to make yourself feel better with a pint of ice cream or a cheese cake. Work on you in little ways every day. Don't forget, although you have so many people cheering you on, only you can make it happen. So, what are you waiting for? I'm going to check in on you every day. I'm going to check your thoughts to make sure they are positive and uplifting. I'm going to make sure you are doing your best to eat right (even though you may not eat perfectly "clean"). I'm going to check in to see you got your sweat on and felt better inside and out! We're doing this together. There's no going back. This time we're going to do it! This time nothing is going to get in our way. You have a beautiful son and amazing husband that want you to feel GOOD, CONIFDENT and BE HEALTHY! You aren't just doing this for you. You are doing this for them. What are you waiting for? Get your damn workout clothes on and your shoes and press play. You'll thank me when you are done.
